Chance at new life for James Brant

Donation protected
Hi my name is Troy and I'm hoping to raise money for my life long friend James "Jimmy" Brant.  James was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 28. Imagine that. Over 12 years have gone by and although he's put up a valiant fight, the disease is winning the battle, as is too often the case with this relentless disease.

At only 40 James has almost completely lost his vision, has a hard time keeping his balance and fights to keep his head above water financially. He has a young daughter Magnolia that means the world to him. Unfortunately Magnolia and her mother live at the complete opposite end of the city however it does not deter him from taking a 2 hour transit ride cross town (each way) at least 3 times per week to spend time with her as he can no longer drive.

We are looking to raise $100,000 so James can travel to Mexico to undergo a new Stem Cell treatment that has proven to be effective in treating the disease. The funds will also cover his follow up medicine costs. We are hoping to raise the funds within 6 months to 1 year, as the waiting list for the treatment is quite long.

A little bit about James:
James is a happy, upbeat, creative individual. He is very skilled with his hands, renovating and working on construction sites. He used to play the guitar every day and enjoyed writing music. Before James was diagnosed with MS he loved to stay active. His biggest passion was for Skateboarding and Snowboarding and he also loved to play golf, baseball and basketball.

The disease has robbed him of these freedoms that many of us take for granted. These days James finds it difficult to carry his little girl in his arms and I know that this is soul destroying for him. If he 's able to do this after his treatment I know it would be enough for him.

No longer "employable", James has a rough time supporting himself. His big passion for life and doing has now made way for long empty days. He needed to find something to do to keep himself busy, lift his spirit and make money. He started making "live edge" tables and shelves from wood from his parents’ farm.
James relies on his family and friends to help him with taking pictures, uploading and keeping his online store and public profiles updated.

Being able to help James get better would mean the world to me, as we have been friends for 33 years. We grew up together, did homework together, travelled together, celebrated together and had each others backs on many occasions. We've laughed and cried and I refuse to accept what this disease has done to him. I want my friend to be able to thrive and be happy again, to be able to pick up his daughter again. We only have one life and it's a short one, please help James get another chance at it.

I will be forever thankful to all who can contribute to this all around amazing person that I'm lucky to call a friend.
