Thank you for taking a look and for possibly assisting me with my goal.  My name is Laura Tria.  This GoFundMe account is not, I repeat, NOT for anything sad.  My life is amazing and magical and blessed.  I share those blessings with many and many get to witness their lives change from surviving to thriving in all areas of their personal, professional, spiritual and physical lives.  I am a Life Coach and Interfaith Minister that has had the privilege of assisting people along their path.

I was ordained in 2000. I studied with Priests and Rabbis and Priestesses and a full variety of leaders of many different faiths.  This has allowed me to be able to relate to people of all different cultures and beliefs.  It has helped me to help almost anyone who seeks me out.  I was one of the first female Interfaith Ministers to attempt to sustain myself doing what I love.  I love serving humanity with their emotional and spiritual needs. My hurdles were many.  Among them were, “How do I charge a fee for serving on a spiritual level?”  No one else was doing it and as far I knew ALL spiritual leaders belonged to some kind of charitable institution and depended on ‘donations’ for their income.  This HAS NEVER resonated with me.  I believe that as human beings, we are a mind, body, spirit entity and all three areas of our lives need tending to for our stability and balance.  Depending on a donation seems to me, to minimize our spirituality.  I believe it is core to our existence.  Mind you, I am not speaking of our religious affiliations.  I am speaking of the stress releasing, peaceful exhilaration of knowing one’s Self.  To know our inner Being is to live in peace.  When we neglect our spiritual self; turmoil, fear, loneliness and a slew of other disadvantages comes into our lives.  For me, and I believe for many, nurturing and growing the Self is as important as the foods we eat and the life we lead and the career we choose.

So, I started off by officiating weddings.  It was so joyful!
It was profitable and easy to charge a fee because couples expected it.  That was good.  As I grew as a minister, the demands grew as well.  Counseling, praying, meditating, doing energy work like Reiki and singing bowls, and giving inspiration speeches at hospitals and rehabilitation centers all became what I exceled at and yet, charging was still an issue. So I charged a minimum and kept a part time job where I was allowed to work the night shift.  This allowed me to minister during the day and keep it as flexible as was necessary to meet the needs of those who depended on me as well as pay my mortgage.

I am fortunate.  This way of being has sustained me and given me and others more joy and inner power than this blog can possibly hold.  I have had so many people show up at my door wanting to give up on life.  These same people, with the assistance of my experience, love and attention, have gone on with their lives embracing the experience instead of being burdened by it.

Ten years into being a successful Interfaith Minister, I was requested by a group of people to teach what I know so that they could do likewise. My investigations lead me to learn that to teach and ordain others, I needed to create a religious organization.  Every religious organization that I researched was a 501c3.  This means that they were labeled a non-for-profit and had more rules and regulations and agencies to answer to than I was comfortable with.  It meant forecasting how much money I was willing to raise, having board meetings and a host of never ending guidelines that had to be followed for the state’s recognition.  It took two years and thousands of dollars to create The New Light Sanctuary, LLC.  It is not a church or charitable institution.  Again, begging for money for something that I believe with every fiber of my being, should be as valuable as everything and anything else we participate in, is not what I stand for.  So, I wasted time and money on lawyers and business counselors only to find out that state and church really are separate.  Finally, as soon as I stepped away from trying to do it the ‘establishment’s way, the New Light Sanctuary was created with ease and I began teaching and ordaining and once again, it was magical and smooth and all those involved benefited.

As you may see, I am not the run of the mill minister.  I serve people and not a theology. I enjoy the study of religions and theologies because they tell so much about people, but, I am pretty clear that although religions and theologies start off wanting to do ‘right’ by humanity, I have found that they often stray and sometimes cause more harm than good.  For this reason, although I love the conversations and desire to know The Divine in all the languages of the world, I choose to serve people and not an institution.  And my knowledge and experience allows me to serve, really well.

As an Interfaith Minister, Life Coach and Teacher, to those I have served, my reputation is impeccable. I will keep it that way.  I give people my all and the rewards of seeing them rise above their difficulties and concerns and reconnect to their own special Divinity, fills me to the brim.

I have taken all that experience and published my first book, HerStory, ‘A Feminine Interpretation of Ancient Knowledge’.  This book was Divinely inspired and because it is in alignment with all that I do, it is doing very well.  So well, that as with everything I do that feels good, I share my experience and that in turn improves people’s lives.  I’ve started teaching from my book.  Again, the satisfaction and feeling of self-worth and accomplishment is humbling and rewarding.

All that I do has sustained and continues to sustain me.  I have unfortunately, never requested the true monetary value for all that I do. So although I survive, I have yet to thrive!  I smile because recently, while continuing to do my own personal work, money, for me, is no longer an issue.  I am now being compensated equal to my efforts. Perhaps it is when we realize our own worth, that asking for that worth seems normal and natural.

Here’s where Go Fund Me comes in.  I have been doing all the teaching and counseling from my home.  Years ago, I afforded to convert a portion of my home into a lovely small office.  You can see the office’s soft yellow walls in some of the photos above.  The interior of my home has not been so soft and welcoming.  I have a tiny, somewhat beat up kitchen and an even smaller dining area.  In February 2016, I held a seminar at my house.  It was delightful and expanding for everyone.  As you can see in the photos, we dine together and sit on pillows and eat off of my family’s fine china that’s been passed down by my mom.

In the photo above, you can also see a makeshift tent for an evening of drumming and dance that was held in my yard this past Spring.  For 23 years, once a month, I have held a Feminine Divine Circle where women of ALL ages, all denominations and cultures have come to my home to Circle or practice their spirituality together.  I have never charged for this event as building a community of women was more important than charging a fee.  This too has served me well as these women have used me for so many of their needs and they pass me onto others and so on.

After that February class at my home, I declared that I would find the monies to remodel my kitchen/ dining area so that I could continue the beautiful work I do. this was the photo I took off the web to inspire me.  Yeah, I know my small house cannot do a table that long.., but it is inspiring to look at.
To date, I have spent nearly $30,000 in this remodeling.  Unfortunately, termites had been hard at work doing their job behind the scenes and the price of the job has escalated another $15,000. In the following photos, you can see some of the damage.

The above shot is some of the walls and floor beams that had to be removed.

This is where I require your help.  I will do what I must to keep paying for this remodel… it will get completed.  On the same hand, I could surely use a hand.  I will continue to serve the community because I am called to do so.  My gratitude is unending for the opportunity that has been bestowed upon me to share with people some of the most precious moments of their lives.  I cannot stop.  I will not stop.  I know this is what I was born to do.

If this resonates with you, then PLEASE HELP.  Know that you will be part of making people’s live better.  When we are better within ourselves, we expand that beautiful feeling of contentment and joy and love out into this world.  I KNOW FOR SURE THAT WE MAKE THE WORLD AT LARGE A BETTER PLACE WHEN WE MAKE OURSELVLES BETTER PEOPLE.

My door is open and you can call me anytime.  Get to know me if you’d like to… and you can come be a part of lifting people UP!  It feels great!

Thank you for your time...and I hope you become part of my life.

Always with Love, Reverence and Respect,

Reverend Laura Tria.
