Mike Ott and Angie wanted to have pizza on their first date and Angie worked at a pizza place. Perfect? No way, they met for pizza at Piachi Pizza and Pub, where they enjoyed music. Things went pretty well on that date. They didn't sleep apart for another twelve years.
They were inseparable. As they made their way through life, famed for their efforts at recycling and trying to get the town off fossil fuels. They were well-known activists for many progressive causes and friends to many. After working many years at RoundTable Pizza, there are probably very few people in Fort Bragg, California that Angie has not delivered pizza to. Her smile was always a bright bonus to every encounter. She also worked as Hostess at The Noyo River Grill a upscale seafood restaurant that looks over the Noyo harbor in Fort Bragg, California.
They married recently and purchased their dream ranch, which includes towering trees and an established apple orchard. They were going to build a house there. They were sleeping together when Mike woke up to find her deceased next to him. She was already gone but he tried reviving her and called an ambulance. They told a distraught Mike there was no need to take her to the hospital, she was gone.
Angie was the one who kept track of everything while he worked as a mechanic full-time. Bills and billing, customer calls and schedules."I can't make sense of anything and my mind is completely out of sorts," said Mike. Angie and Mike were partners in everything including earning a living. This fundraiser is to pay for cremation and other direct expenses involved with Mike suddenly being sole provider for their business and new property. Angie is still being held for an autopsy as the cause of death has not been determined and toxicology findings may take another month or more, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Department said. "She and Mike were like peanut butter and jelly, once they got together they were inseparable. I know there are so many people mourning her loss and considering how happy they both were about their marriage and their dream coming true on the MicAngie Ranch," said Mike's sister Suzette Ott.
Frank Hartzell and Linda Little saw Angie the afternoon before she died, “She seemed happier than ever and full of life and energy. She was so excited to start their new married life on their own land." We and all their family and friends were absolutely stunned by what happened.
"This loss was devastating and so unforeseen, for most, unimaginable. She was so young and full of energy to continue their life as Mr. & Mrs. Ott and get to work on homesteading their beautiful property. We have formed this GoFundMe in an effort to help Mike not only cover the multiple thousand dollar funeral expenses, but to help him keep her dream alive. One of Her dreams was to be bottling Cider this month made from their own land, another was to have a wedding reception with their many friends and family in the apple orchard during the spring bloom. Now it seems it will be a memorial to celebrate her life and to spread her ashes. "
This is a life changing and tragic event and your support can make a huge difference. Any contribution will be deeply appreciated and will help our friend begin to rebuild his life after this devastating loss.
Thank you for your generosity and for keeping Mike in your thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.
