Save My Dad's House

This is being done for my dad, Randy, who has been my personal hero my entire life, and who has greatly affected the lives of countless individuals.

Randy is a Vietnam-era Army veteran, and a decorated former firefighter. He has served his community for over 30 years, bravely going where few others dared to go, and taking on projects few would take on. Randy has been involved with livestock guardian dog rescue for most of his life, helping abandoned and abused dogs get rehabilitated and find a new home. He is also at risk for losing the house that he worked so hard for.

Due to age and some health issues, Randy has had a difficult time finding steady employment. He has been able to pick up side jobs, and short term work, but nothing that could pay all the bills for a long period of time. Adding to this, he is going through a nasty divorce from my mom, and she was the one who had been paying the mortgage while he was looking for work. She has since stopped paying, thus resulting in the mortgage being past due.

My dad worked three jobs in the mid-1990s in order to purchase this house. He has spent countless hours working on it and making it a "safe place" for friends, family, and all forms of animals. He has poured his heart and soul into this house and property, and it may be ripped away from him. This is the house where my brother and I grew up, where Randy's grandsons have learned to feed animals and to be around livestock, and where the lives of so many rescue dogs have been saved. Not only his he at risk of losing the house he loves, but the dogs that he is trying to help are at risk as well.

I know that this is a lot of money to be asking for, and I know there will be those who critisize my dad, and me, for "begging". I don't care. I cannot buy the house and keep it for him, but I can get the word out and ask for help from those who know and love him and our family. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for anything you are able to contribute.
