Dear Family and Friends,
We are writing to you on behalf of the Pallagrosi Family. About a year ago, Roberto, Dora and Massimo had their lives turned upside down. Back in April 2016, Roberto was driving to work, as he suddenly became dizzy, lightheaded and disoriented, he stopped his car in the middle of the road and was able to dial Dora's number for help. After many tests and days in ICU they found out that Roberto had a brain tumor. They knew it wasn't the primary tumor so after transferring him to Columbia where they performed brain surgery to remove the tumor, an abdomen catscan confirmed him having a large mass on his left kidney. Never having any symptoms, this terrible news wasn't the last of it. Tests proved that he has Stage IV Kidney Cancer. Since this diagnosis, he has had three other brain tumors which led to gamma knife treatments for each. Unfortunately, the cancer has metastasized and he has other tumors throughout his lung and ribs.
Roberto is currently receiving immunotherapy treatment. Like any treatment, there comes side effects. He was hospitalized a few months ago because he could not move his hands and feet, along with his back. The end result was Roberto has spinal stenosis, which causes all and new different pains. In December, Roberto was directed by his physicians that due to this debilitating illness and ongoing treatments, he can no longer work.
With this realization is the reality that he needs to support his family and that it is impossible to do with his current condition and his inability to work. Roberto is on numerous expensive medications, needs ongoing MRI's and catscans and immunotherapy treatments which has left them with extensive medical bills, as not all procedures are fully covered by their insurance.
This is where we humbly are asking for your help! Dora and Roberto have been doing their best to balance their everyday bills, medical bills, medications and all out of pocket expenses, but they need help.
We are asking our very generous family, friends and community to donate whatever amount they are capable of giving to help Roberto and Dora get through this incredibly difficult time.
