Our Charlie was born with a congenital heart defect.   When your 1st born is diagnosed with a life threatening heart defect, your heart literally stops and after you catch your breath you quickly learn how to fight & navigate around whatever it will take to keep your baby’s heart beating and this precious girl in our lives. We survived 4 open heart surgeries in her 1st two years in this world.


She has proven to be a brave, loving, caring little girl who hopes to be an airplane pilot who fly’s way up in the clouds and bring people to where they want to be.  Well, our little Charlie is in need of another surgery. On August 1, 2016 she will be having her 5th open heart surgery in order to change her conduit of her pulmonary valve to a larger size and to repair her tricuspid valve. We live in NC and we had to travel to Philadelphia, PA for her last 2 surgeries. This time we will be traveling to Memphis, TN to see a surgeon who specializes in tricuspid valves. 


We have never been very good at asking for help when we need it. Our family likes to be the one that helps others. But we need help. With traveling, being away from work, and living out of our suit cases, while still taking care of our family, expenses add up. We would truly be blessed with anything that could help this go as smoothly as possible so we can concentrate on our Charlie healing and getting back to her crazy 4 year old self.
