My name is Sherri Bourgoin, family friend of Mark, Karyn, Emily & Anna. This GoFundMe page is for the purpose of assisting Mark's family with financial costs in the coming days, weeks and months ahead.
As most people know, Mark was a very generous person who would do anything for just about anyone. He had a passion for cycling, helping others, and most of all his family. A very devoted and loving father and husband, Mark was exceptionally proud of his girls. He's faced life challenges with his loving wife, Karyn by his side, working as a team to provide their exceptional daughters with love, support, and the opportunity to focus on their educations. Now it is on Karyn's shoulders to continue on to provide and support the Emily & Anna, for both Mark and herself.
Mark was fairly new to his current job and unfortunately, at this time, did not have benefits that would assist his family for life without him. The emotional loss of Mark is difficult at the very least for his family and I'm sure overwhelming to prepare for a future without him. As helpful and generous as Mark was, I'm sure he would be overwhelmed at the outpourring of love and appreciation for his generosity and friendship from those who were lucky enough to know him.
All funds from this GoFundMe page will assist Karyn with funeral costs, missed income during her grieving process, as well as, help to alleviate the loss of Mark's income going forward. Mark and Karyn, like most parents, have gone with less in order to provide Emily and Anna the very best they possibly could. Should there be any excess funds, they will be used towards Emily and Anna's education fund.
How can anyone prepare for such a loss? They can't. The one thing that friends of Mark, Karyn, Emily or Anna can do to help them through this difficult time is make a donation of any denomination. Anything and everything will help, no amount is too small. Both Mark and Karyn are very proud individuals who would rather give than receive, but in this case we can all offer the support, love and friendship that they both so willingly gave.
There are no words that will be able to alleviate the loss of Mark, but this fund will certainly alleviate the resulting financial challenges.
It truly will mean so much to Karyn and the girls. Let's rally and do for Mark what he would do for anyone else.
