William Tighe was taken to the hospital after becoming disoriented and confused. He was transported from Ottumwa to Mercy hospital in Des Moines after doctors discovered he had developed a blood infection. After he arrived at the hospital, his heart stopped, not once but twice. After arriving at the hospital doctors rushed to do everything they could to save him, he was put on life support. After ten days of remaining on life support the doctors sat us down today and told us that the father, the husband, the man that we all knew and loved would never return to us as  knew him. After a lengthy conversation with family, we’ve decided to honor his wishes. Bill, after many years of hospitals, treatments, and doctors asked that if anything like this were to happen he not live out his life is such a way. While this is difficult for us to put this out there, unfortunately Bill did not have life insurance, so we are sending this out here in hopes for a little support in making sure we are able to carry out his final wishes.
