Funerals for Delia Casillas & Ruben Casillas

This Third Update Version Wednesday May 24, 2021
Dear Family members, friends, and supporters
I am excited to share with you that this week we received a nice donation/contribution towards the debt for the medical and funeral/burial services for my deceased wife Delia “DeDe” Munoz Casillas and my deceased son Ruben James Casillas who both died before their time. To date we have raised $3,841.00 towards the GoFundMe goal of $50,000. Leaving a balance of $46,159, but we have reached 7.6% of our goal.
This is our 3rd writing as of this update to the GoFundMe account for my wife Delia “DeDe” Casillas who died from ovarian cancer which spread to her abdomen, passed away on January 13, 2021. DeDe has been battling with her illness for the past three years which was a death sentence to her. DeDe was always involved in the Coronado 5K Run for the past 21 years, and DeDe was unselfish in heading a fund for Human Rights Campaign, march with Cesar Chavez as a young girl in Coachella Valley for farm workers.
Three days later my son Ruben James Casillas passed away from prostate cancer on January 16, 2021. Ruben lost his battle recently suddenly with his illness in the last few months. Ruben did not reach out for medical assistance for his prostate condition. Which was a surprise to all the immediate family and friends.
The cost for both my wife and son in terms of medical bills and burial costs involved in the funeral services came out to $50,000. As the husband to DeDe and the father to Ruben I used my credit cards to secure the two burial plots, two caskets, two funeral services, miscellaneous funeral expenses and medical expenses bills from the doctors and hospitals. These expenses are an extreme burden since I am 71 years old, retired, I cannot work to due to my health conditions, and l am living only on my monthly social security check.

Dear Family members and friends,
I am writing this update to the GoFundMe account for my wife Delia “DeDe” Casillas who died from ovarian cancer that spread to her abdomen, passed away on Wed. Jan. 13, 2021; and three days later my son Ruben James Casillas passed away from prostate cancer on Sat. Jan. 16, 2021.
Due to the corona virus the funeral services were on Feb. 10th, which were severely curtailed and limited to our family and friends. DeDe has been batting with her illness for the past three years which was a death sentence to her, and Ruben lost his battle recently suddenly with his illness in the last few months. Which was a surprise to all the immediate family and friends.
The cost for both my wife and son in terms of medical bills and burial costs involved in the funeral services would reach $50,000.
As the husband to DeDe and the father to Ruben I used my credit cards to secure the two burial plots, two caskets, two funeral services, miscellaneous funeral expenses and medical expenses bills from the doctors and hospitals. These expenses are a burden since I am 71 years old, retired and not working, living only on my monthly social security check.
