Hello Neighbors! Many of you have likely seen this homeless woman, Debra,  and her trusty dog (small-medium golden doodle), HAPPY,  hanging around shirley's bagels shopping center and the surrounding area. Happy has done a wonderful job protecting her companion and living on the street.  We used to carry bones around in our car and bikes to give to the dog when we would see them. Lately we hadn’t seen them so we were concerned, until a few days ago when we ran into her alone! She was upset and her dog missing.  We found HAPPY at the animal control and learned that HAPPY needs a serious surgery as she has cancerous mammary tumors that need to be removed and she also needs to be spayed in the process....a deep cleaning and dematte is also a necessity.  Breaks my sons and my hearts as HAPPY is the sweetest dog and still young.  We will be getting her to the vet on or around Monday.  Thank you in advance to all of the loving neighbors who have offered to help with the bills etc.  I am incredibly grateful for the response I have received on the Nextdoor app, very thankful especially during the Thanksgiving week.
