Mission Trip to Japan

I am ecstatic and so grateful to have the opportunity to go to Japan on a mission trip this summer!

God has given me a heart for sharing the Gospel with the Japanese people and this will be my second time going. Lord willing, I will be able to go for three weeks.

My reason for going is to serve in a Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Minemachi Christ Church in Utsunomiya, Tochigi, Japan. I will be performing in skits and assisting in teaching Bible lessons, using a curriculum that a friend and I wrote specifically for the Japanese kids who will attend. We expect at least 80 elementary-age kids to come for the week and most of them will be hearing the Gospel for the first time in their lives. We chose the story of Joseph (Genesis 37-47) as our VBS theme to illustrate the path to salvation through Jesus Christ. It will be an exciting and energetic experience that we pray will draw these kids to the love and grace of God.

After the VBS, we plan to spend a weekend pouring into the junior high students who attend an afterschool program at the church. This time will be a more intimate and relaxed setting, allowing for deeper conversations about the Bible.

During this time I also plan to serve the missionary who organized this trip by cleaning and making meals. I met her in Japan in 2019 and am so thankful for her passion to serve the Lord!

The $3,000 I hope to raise through support will cover the cost of my plane ticket, meals, lodging, and transportation within Japan. The trip is scheduled for the last part of July and the first part of August.
