Helps my mom's debilitating lungs!

In march of 2009 my mother Gigi wasn't feeling herself, she was short of breath, and could not mantain a normal life style. She then started to try to figure out what was wrong, she made doctors appointments after doctors appoinments and they couldnt give her an answer. In February 2010 she finally saw a doctor who could give her some answers, & in March of 2010 she was diagnosed with Alpha-1 Anti-Trypstin Disorder, A congenital disease she had since birth.  It went undetected  but when faced with a difficult time in her life, stress triggered the disease & reaked havoc on her lungs. She then was put through testing to see what the next step would be. She was then told her lungs capacity was at 39% and that they wouldn't improve, but with weekly infusions it would slow the progression of her disease. Unfortunately her lungs are getting worse every year & the only option is a double lung transplant which only has a 5 year life expectancy, & at 49 isnt a good option. In October of this year, The Lung Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania called her & let her know there is a new research that she might be interested in. Bone Marrow Stem Cell Transplant. This would take healthy bone marrow & harvest the adult stem cells which are transfused into her lungs. This transpant has a 76% success rate, and 20-50% increase of lung capacity. Its only three years into testing & insurance companies will not pay for the testing unless its 5-7 years old. My mother is not one to ask for help, but she needs it.  Her children, and grandchildren need her here to live a long and healthy life. It currently a 45 day wait, and we would like to get this process started as soon as possible. I know that with the help of family & friends we can help her to receive this amazing oppurtunity.
