I am writing on behalf of my son Noah. No it is a sweet, handsome 16-year-old who has autism and is nonverbal. I have had three strokes and Noah has been amazing, helping me get back on my feet. He helps me with the dishes, the laundry, and keeping our place tidy. I have been trying to get him a service dog. Unfortunately, there are many barriers. Covid restrictions have the made the list impossible to get on and The reluctance to give dogs to families in apartments offers us little hope. In Calgary, his Grandmother has a golden retriever, Bella. She was so comforting to Noah, following him around and snuggling on the couch. He was content, and I would like to see him with a dog that can handle him, and one that will be his best friend. I was alone for two years learning how to walk and talk again. During that time I got a family Yorky and we both take him on walks all the time. However our family dog isn’t that helpful when it comes to Noah and he needs for a companion animal. I know that no I would love a best friend. We both have allergies to certain dogs so ,I’m looking for a hypoallergenic dog such as a poodle, golden doodle or a Labre doodle.I really need help for my wonderful son. We are asking for $3000 to help us purchase a dog and register for some lessons so that no one can learn commands to care for the companion dog.
