Isaiah's Move to May Center School

Donation protected
Our beloved 11 year old severely autistic and aggressive son Isaiah needs to be placed in residential care. Due to the severity of his autism and aggression he requires a facility with a very high level of care which is the May Center School in Massachusetts. Currently Isaiah has been attending the Bay School in Santa Cruz California which is the sister school and is affiliated with the May Center School. He's been attending the Bay School for the past 5 years and they have been very successful at reducing his behavior, he has thrived there and has learned so much. Although he has improved he is still significantly aggressive both at home and at his school needing a 3-4 person restraint during aggressive episodes. As a family we do have a strong home program and a good BCBA but keeping him safely restrained and keeping my family and most importantly my younger son Harlan safe has continued to be increasingly difficult as my son Isaiah has grown. Last night even with the help of 2 men from the home program 1 caretaker and both my husband and I we still struggled to restrain him and suffered injuries due to hair pulling, scratching, hitting, biting, and head banging.

He has been accepted into the May Center School and residential however our family is currently in bankruptcy due to his medical care and home modifications which include a $4,000 brain scan out of pocket, special medication insurance doesn't cover, broken windows, and padded walls which are around 2-3 hundred a pad. Our family took a big hit and lost wages from work when my husband Arunas who is 59 years of age fell down the stairs running after Isaiah and broke his knee requiring 2 surgeries and rehab. We have had to borrow thousands of dollars for attorney fees from family and friends which we need to pay back but cannot at this time.

Isaiah's school is about a 2 hour drive away from our home and during his bus ride he can become agitated and aggressive making it dangerous to transport him, therefore has never traveled on a plane. Getting Isaiah safely to the May Center School in Massachusetts will require the services of Safeguard Adolescent Services which can cost up to $5000. My husband and I also wish to fly out there and help with his transition. We would need hotel stay for a week and round trip airfare which can also be very costly because it is across the country.

Please help our family and my son Isaiah have peace of mind during this new step forward in our struggle through autism. Please pray and think positive thoughts as it is heartbreaking to to take our son across the country and not be able to see him as often as were used to. Anything you can help with is greatly appreciated. Whether a dollar or anything more! Thank you to all who support us!
