A Miracle for Shareen

Donation protected
Shareen needs a miracle. Her dream of seeing the Big Apple was over before it even started. Only days into her month long vacation, she fell ill and was rushed to the hospital where she was diagnosed with neuroendocrine carcinoma that has metastasized throughout her entire body. She remains hospitalized and is unable to travel back to her family in Guyana.

A single mother of two, 41 years old Shareen had always struggled in life. Her father passed away when she was very young, leaving her mother with five young children to fend for by herself.  As the mother worked long hours doing menial jobs to make ends meet, the four sisters took care of each other with love.

Shareen was just 18 when she got married. She gave birth to a beautiful daughter a year later and a handsome son a few years later.  Her dream was to give them the world: a complete family and a sound education. In her world that was a lot.

That dream fell apart quickly when her husband left her with the two young children and moved to Canada.  She was just in her 20's but never looked back. She couldn't give them that home she so longed to give them, but she worked tirelessly to give them the sound education she knew was important for them. The kids both excelled in school.

A few years ago, Shareen was faced with a huge setback. She was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She was down, but not out. She faced it, beat it and went back to a new normal life; she worked less and celebrated life, knowing that the kids are now older and can help themselves.

Shareen's family and friends encouraged her to take a NY vacation. She was always fascinated with NY. They all celebrated when she took off on her very first vacation. She, being a high-energy person, couldn't wait to immerse herself in the NY "craziness". Sadly that never materialized.

She is now fighting for her life in a NY hospital. Her loving sisters left their families behind in Guyana and came to take care of her. Her now older, helpless mother also came and is trying her best to help. However, her heart-sicken kids were not given visas to enter the US. The doctors reached out to the US embassy and pleaded for the kids to come see their mother alive for the last time but to no avail so far.

On top of the heartache this family is facing, this is putting a huge financial strain on them. Medicines/treatments she needs and are not covered for do not come cheap. Also, there are other expenses associated with her illness.

I know Shareen is a very private person who is filled to the brim with pride. It is with great hesitation that she has agreed to let me share her story and ask for help.

I asked you humbly for your sincere prayers and kind contribution to help Shareen's cause.

On behalf of the family, I want to thank you for all your support and prayers. Please keep praying for a miracle for this mother/sister/daughter/friend or perfect stranger.

God's blessings.
