I am LeeAnn Diekhoff, and Mike Ray is my cousin.

Mike needs a wheel chair and relies on VA for his medical care. We, as his friends and family need to make this happen and for his safety, it needs to happen fast!

Mike Ray has endured more than many extraordinary men are expected to endure. After suffering a stroke, ten years ago, Mike’s life was torn completely apart when the love of his live and 2 daughters were involved in a very violent car accident. Mike's wife, Gisela, remains paralyzed and in need of constant care. The love Mike has shown for Gish mirrors no other I have ever witnessed. Since that time, Mike has suffered numerous subsequent strokes and other medical issues, all the while he continues to persevere and support his wife daily.
Upon Mike's retiring, he must rely on Veteran's Affairs (VA) for his medical care. Due to worsened neuropathy, (lost feeling in his feet) He has been ordered by physicians to a wheel chair. He needs this not only for his own personal safety but to also get him back and forth to his daily visits to Gish. This man deserves this chair and I am confident that he has the love and concern of his friends to get it for him.
I would like to see this amount exceed the $5,000 request because Mike also needs to have hand controls put into his handicap accessible van, so he can safely make it to his VA appointments.
