Memorial for Anne Norris

Loud, outspoken, always there and cared for everyone she knew! We lost our Queen, the glue of our family. Our mum went by many names. For dad it was sweetheart, for us girls Marj, the boys called her Anne or ‘The-Mother-In-Law’. Our babies called her all sorts, Nan, Nana, Nanny white hair and Nanny Witch! Friends and family called her Annie, Anne and I’m sure sometimes they just called her a few choice names too! No matter who knew her, whether it was for years, through to those who had met her once or only knew of her, they all knew her to be amazing. Marj lived for my dad, us girls, our babies. There was never anything that would or could ever stop her being the centre of all of ours lives. The only thing which won was COVID. It took her far too young, far too early, far too quickly and took her away from us all. She fought and fought in the few days she was in hospital, with us all hopeful that in a few days or at worst, weeks, she would be home to us all again. We knew that the recovery would take a long time, that we would all have to be there for her even more, but she’d always been there for us so many times and everyday of our lives so that it wasn’t even something any of us worried about. As with all other arrangements that COVID has affected, flowers unfortunately as symbolic as they once were are not advised. As a family we have decided to create a donations page instead as so many have asked. The donations shall support a memorial for Marj and shall also contribute to a charity close to mum - Cancer Research. We as a family would also like to thank every single gesture and comment which has been sent to us. We are thankful and are appreciative of every kind word, message, card and call.
