Help Support Emmett's Healing Journey

Hi, my name is Alicia, and I’m reaching out with a mother’s heart full of love, hope, and a need for help.

Our sweet 9 year old son, Emmett, was recently rushed to the hospital after we discovered he had a bleed in his brain. Doctors performed an emergency surgery to relieve the pressure, and while that procedure went well, he is now in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for what will likely be a month long stay as his brain heals and prepares for a second surgery to locate and stop the source of the bleeding.

Emmett is the light of our lives. He’s the kind of kid who goes out of his way to make others smile, loves to laugh, and has the biggest, most sensitive heart. Seeing him lying in a hospital bed, hooked up to monitors and machines, is every parent’s nightmare, but we are holding on to hope and faith that he will recover.

During this time, my husband and I are staying by Emmett’s side, which means my husband is currently unable to work. While Emmett fights for healing, we are trying to manage unexpected medical costs, travel, meals, and basic needs for our family during this extended stay at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas.
