Let's Support Lisa...during her time of need when she needs our help the most. She would do it for you and me, so let's do it for her!!!
Lisa is a very loving, 47 year old single mom who has been fighting illness for over 10 years. Her 6 year old son Daniel is the love of her life, nothing has brought her more joy in this world. She doesn't feel like she has anyone to count on since both of her parents have been taken from Cancer.
Lisa has had renal disease for 10 years, which she needs a kidney transplant for in the near future, to avoid dialysis. Most recently she found out she a gastrointestinal cancer that could be terminal over the next 10 years. She had a 9 hour surgery and a 107 degree chemotherapy treatment that she was told would eliminate the illness for now. Lisa has a 2-3 month recovery period in which she will not recieve any income.
She is a self employed social worker who has spent her career helping others and at times for very little or no reimbursement. Lisa has no disability insurance or sick pay and she really needs help to support her and Daniel's basic needs. Food, shelter, medications, and child care expenses have been exhausting the money she was saving to buy a house and get Daniel out of their small apartment. Her dreams are being crushed...but she worries more about Daniel and wants to be around for many years to see him grow and be able to take care of him.
Lisa has always been an independant and self sufficent person up until now. And she has always helped other whenever she could. Everyone needs help at some point in their lives and Lisa needs help now to get her through this time of crisis. I am an old elementary school friend, and when I heard her story, I told her I wanted to help in any way that I could...because I would hope someone would help me out in this type of situation.
We don't live close enough and my job gets in the way of being there onsite to help...but I figured the least I could do was reach out to the people who want to HELP OTHERS and see if we can help Lisa get some LOVE, INSPIRATION, and SUPPORT to keep fighting and take care of Daniel without having to worry so much.
Please look into your hearts and help me help Lisa...if we can get everyone to help a little...then it will help a lot!!!
