On August 13, 2017 after a valiant fight our Priscilla went home to with the Lord.
Priscilla Charlice Huffman Poirier was born on July 13, 1988. Her little sister Esther called her "Prissy" and soon everyone was calling her by that name.
At the age of 8, Prissy had a kidney transplant.
That didn't stop her from living her life to the fullest...on her terms.
This petite, blue-eyed, freckle-faced, polite, mature, thoughtful, loving, giving, strong, southern beauty was a go-getter & a person who cherished her blessings.
She liked the color green and loved ladybugs. She was a planner, an organizer, amateur photographer, a motivator and a Christian.
Prissy and Esther were not just sisters, but the best of friends. They were one. Prissy was a faithful friend to many who adored & respected her, a devoted babysitter for many families who considered her a part of their family and later a loyal employee of Baptist Memorial Hospital and Baptist One Care.
On December 19, 2009 she married her soulmate Andrew Poirier, a man she was proud to call her husband. He towered over her becoming her protector and champion. They were adorably silly too.
It was a beautiful life, but her dreams would come true when she became a mom to Nate on June 10, 2012 and Jenna Kate on January 17, 2015.
She adored her babies buying them adorable outfits, taking lots of photos, planning fun projects, creating memories, loving on them always and sharing many moments on Facebook with sweet messages about her greatest treasures.
It was April 11, 2016 Prissy she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. It was a year of pain and suffering. Chemo, dialysis treatments, congestive heart failure, life support, tests, hospital stays, prayers, renal failure, ruptured colon, non-stop tears. She was honest about the tough times, but stayed positive. She fought to stay alive for her babies, for her family. For this tiny lady, she was mighty. It was a hard fought battle, but she did it on her terms and with such grace and dignity.
We lost our sweet ladybug on August 13, 2017. Priscilla leaves behind her husband Andrew; children Nate and Jenna Kate; parents Paula and Stanley Huffman; sister Esther Ming; brother-in-law Scott Ming; the Ming's unborn baby due in January; Dale Prince aka Papaw; aunt Kellie Hodges; uncle Chris Hodges; cousin Maclaren; aunt Susie Gilbert; cousins Amanda, Tim and Jalen Ducas.
In Heaven Prissy will be reunited with grandma Shirley Ann Prince and Shane Roy III, her adoptive grandpa and the person who performed her transplant and multiple surgeries.
A fundraising page has been set up to help her family with the mounting medical bills, looming funeral costs & childcare expenses. Please help if you can and keep them in your prayers.

This page was created so we can share stories, post photos and comfort one another. Please feel free post as often as you'd like. It will also serve as a memory book for Nate and Jenna Kate.
When the children she cared for would ask about the brown dots on her face she would often tell they were freckles, but she called them stars.
Shine bright, precious Priscilla.
You may be gone, but you'll always be in our hearts. A star that brilliant can never be dimmed.
