HELP BRING ERIKA HOME

Hi, my name is Dorothy, and I am fundraising for my daughter, Erika, to help bring her home. On May 11, 2023, she had major brain surgery to stop a brain bleed caused by a fall. From there, she experienced seizures, a ventilator, a trach (which still has not been removed), she coded three times, has been in three different hospitals, and five different nursing homes. She is now back in the hospital.

She has never once in all that time (9 months) been able to go home to be with her husband. She is also fighting stage four metastatic breast cancer. She’s a fighter, and if anyone can win the battle, it will be her. On top of everything, she is diabetic. As of a week ago, we were on our way to having the trach removed and get her home, and then pneumonia, MRSA, and sepsis suddenly hit.

We will never give up, but I just don't have the funds to bring her home. I would like to raise two months' worth of care so she can be at home in comfort with her loving husband and pets. She will need 16 hours of care a day to keep her well enough to finally have the trach removed so she can talk and breathe normally again. In each of the five different nursing homes, the care has definitely been substandard, and lead her back to a hospitalization. (Oh, the stories we could tell!)

I am asking for you to please donate what you can so we can bring her home where she belongs. If we send her back to another nursing home, we fear she will never make it back to the husband and home she loves so much. Also, if we can keep her from having any setbacks, we can then try to have the trach removed.

She is fighting to come home. If I am able to tell my child, with your help, that I can bring her home, it will be a blessing.
