Wheelchair Van for Ainsley Ogg
Donation protected

On December 30, 2006, our granddaughter, Ainsley Elizabeth Ogg, made her appearance into the world. It was a little earlier than expected but still, what a happy day that was for her parents and all of her extended family!
But after a few months it became apparent that her prematurity and the complications of her birth had caused some issues. She couldn't sit up by herself. She didn't learn to crawl or pull herself to standing like most babies. Her mental development was advanced, but physically she fell further and further behind what could be expected for her age group.
When she was about two years old, Ainsley was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Since that early age she's undergone several surgeries, speech therapy, and hours upon hours of intense physical therapy.
Now she's 9 years old, 4 feet tall, and weighs 75 pounds. She has an amazing new power wheelchair that gives her the ability to be more involved in age appropriate activities with her peers. It raises her, lowers her, puts her right in the middle of all the social, academic, and extracurricular activities so important to children. That's great because our Princess Curls wants to be involved in anything and everything!
We're asking for your help in raising the money necessary to purchase a van that can be adapted to accommodate the wheelchair of this wonderful, loving, extremely intelligent, articulate, determined, amazing child who loves the color pink, crazy socks, and Carrie Underwood, and who has never let herself be defined by her physical limitations. Without this van, Ainsley is restricted to using her manual chair, limiting her ability to join her peers, leaving her on the outside looking in rather than right smack in the middle, which is where she loves to be. Please, help make this possible.
All donations will be appreciated more than you can imagine. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
