Renee Boomhower Plemmons is a 48 year old mother of two beautiful girls, Randi Lynn (19) and Dallas (17). Renee has lived in Lake Havasu for her entire life and has been a hair stylist at Jacklyn's Salon Specialists.
Renee was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in December of 2012. She had a lumpectomy in March of 2013 and, because the margins were too great, she decided to have a double mastectomy. After four chemotherapy treatments the cancer was thought to be gone.
Strangely enough, in November of 2014 Renee was in a car accident. To check for broken ribs, a CT scan was performed. The results of the CT scan showed that the cancer had metastasized to her bones. The cancer then spread to her liver and her lungs. Renee was upgraded to stage 4 metastasized breast cancer (because that is the where she was first diagnosed).
Renee had been undergoing chemotherapy treatments in Kingman, Arizona but, as of June 8, 2016, (not long after her mother passed away) she was told that the treatments were ineffective and the cancer was not responding to the chemotherapy at all.
Renee has just been informed by her physician that she has approximately 6 months left to live.
Refusing to give up, because that is NOT Renee's style, she is looking to start alternative medicine treatments that are not covered by her insurance and there may be travel involved to do so. She is also in need of supplemental income to assist with her finances and possible preparations for a memorial service as she is not yet receiving any disability.
Renee has spent her life giving and helping others. It is our wish for her that she spend this time focusing on herself and her family. Renee is the type of person that will give the shirt off of her back and her last dollar to someone without them asking for it. Her friends and family would love it if she could spend some quality time with her family and enjoy a little financial breathing room. We pray that her life and her faith in the Lord will continue to be a testimony to others as she is committed to continue this fight and live life to it's fullest!
