When we first got Midou from the shelter he had a flare-up, at that time we brought him to the vet and was told that he most likely has herpes (FHV). Thankfully Midou's flare-up wasn’t bad and it was just a little bit of a swollen eyelid. Other than that our little Midou was perfectly fine until recently when we got him neutered. Two weeks ago when he did his neuter surgery, we noticed that our poor Midou's eyes started flaring up again. Due to the stress caused by the surgery, a flare-up was triggered which was affecting his eyes. In his situation due to his history with FHV, we thought that the other symptoms he was experiencing were related to his FHV. After a while, more symptoms were surfacing which led the vet to believe it may be FIP that he could’ve gotten by the shelter we got him from and most likely triggered by surgery (neutered).
After getting his bloodwork done, his doctor believed it was most likely FIP and that he only has weeks left. This was the most heartbreaking and devasting news we could've received. Our sweet little boy Midou barely even had a chance to experience life and we couldn’t imagine having to say goodbye to our sweet baby.
Recently we were able to find some hope in curing this infection although since it’s not approved yet it’s pretty costly and unfortunately we cannot afford the whole thing. He is our baby and we were able to get him started on the treatment as it’s our number one priority right now.
I know 2020 has been a rough year for all of us but if you can please help donate any amount, even sharing this will help Midou recover from this fatal viral disease. There is hope and whatever help we can get right now is greatly appreciated.
