It is with immense urgency to gather any, and all, who can help in any way, small or large, to raise funds in order to get Garrett transportation and help with medical expenses in his fight against stage four cancer.
Dec, just another normal day, the dogs barking, the birds chirping , the sun shining, lost in planning ahead my schedule of the days activities. The phone rings jarring me out of my thoughts, my son is calling, Hi honey, my son responds, "mom I have something to tell you", what honey ? "in person, I need to talk to you". I go see my son, with concern searching his face, I brace myself. "I have cancer mom" . a loud thump hits my entire brain and body nearly knocking me off my feet. my mind goes numb, I feel flatlined, in an instant NOTHING else matters to me, but my son, and getting him the care he needs. I am extremely and deeply indebted to Kaceys parents, Kevin and Terry whom love Garrett like their own son, and have been a backbone of strength, love and support more then they can even posssibly imagine.
it took almost two months of trying to find insurance and a doctor who could take him immediately, most doctors were booked solid for at least that long. a doctor was found that could take him sooner. he would need immediate surgery and followup chemo and radiation. We were just informed that the cancer has spread, his doctor is referring him to specialists at UCLA in California, where he can get the best radical treatment and care.
Any contribution, financial, emotional, information to get him the best care, transportation or lodging near UCLA, no matter how small, is genuinely and deeply appreciated. Monetary funds are first and foremost needed ,and will go directly to Garretts fiancee Kacey, his immediate caretaker.
