Chary Abarca Vejar and Raul Vejar have been affected by COVID-19 and tested positive on 12-29-2020 after both being sick and not feeling well since Christmas day. Both where being treated at home as there is only one public hospital in their town of Zihuatanejo and it is maxed out and does not have the equipment needed to properly care for them. Currently Raul is at home recovering on oxygen and IV, Chary is not doing as well and on 01-03-2021 took a 4 hour ambulance ride to a private hospital in nearby Acapulco. She is currently in ICU in a fight for her life with pneumonia.
They have 3 wonderful young adult children 20 - 28 the oldest daughter is with her Mom at the hospital helping manage her care with twice daily meetings with doctors and visiting her mom now on a ventilator. The youngest daughter is at home taking care of her father while their son is trying his best to keep their business running that both Chary and Raul worked at from sun up to sun down 7 days a week.
The hospital requires daily payments of between $5,000 to $6,000 a day to continue care. The Immediate and extended family have been covering that expense but now need help to continue the fight for Chary.
