Tavion's Miracle
Donation protected
My son's name is Tavion and he was diagnosed with DIPG (diffused interinsic pontine glioma) on May 13th, 2016, a rare, inoperable and incurable brain tumor. The doctors say that once diagnosed they give you a 6-18 month survival rate but I truly believe and have faith that we are going to beat this. He is 6 years old and graduated kindergarten this year from West Greene Elementary School. Tavion has started radiation at Children's Hospital. He will be receiving treatments for 6 weeks. Tavion is a strong little boy. He has been such a champ throughout all of this. Although at this time we have decided to not tell Tavion his diagnosis. He just knows that he is sick and not feeling well. After completion of radiation we will be trying to get him into clinical trials for DIPG. Traveling possibly to New York, California or maybe even the UK. Clinical trials can be very costly and not covered by insurances. We will do everything we can to give our loving little boy a chance. I have decided to not go back to work at this time to spend every minute we can with Tavion and find him the best treatment available. This is a tough time for us all and we appreciated all the love, text, calls, donations and support that everyone has given us. We still have big mountains to cross on this journey. We really appreciate any help that we can get to get Tavion the treatment he needs and deserves and be able to cover travel and medical expenses. Thank you everyone!!
