Willow needs your help!

Hi, my name is Tammie, and I am trying to raise funds for my dog, Willow James. Willow is a sweet dog that is very social and loves everyone. He is friendly with people and plays with other dogs in dog parks around the area. Unfortunately, another dog attacked him on June 11, 2022. Willow, my two sons and I were walking in the "March for our Lives" March in Saratoga Springs, NY. The dog that attacked Willow jumped out of the window of a parked truck on the street. That dog ran straight for Willow and jumped at his neck. I attempted to move Willow quickly, but the dog bit his neck before I could get Willow out of the way. The dog clamped his jaws on Willow's leg and would not let go. The owner attempted to place a cloth over his dog's face, but the dog did not let go. Willow suffered two severe crushing wounds to his chest and back leg. He has been in the Veterinary Hospital since June 13, 2022. In July, Willow needed to be sedated every other day to change the bandages and re-suture his wounds. The Veterinarian in charge of his care has consulted with other veterinarians to determine a way to heal Willow's wounds faster so he can come home. He remains in the hospital as of today (8.30.2022). His leg has healed, but his chest wound has not fully closed.
The cost of Willow's wounds is over $25,000 as of today. The other dog's owner has offered to pay $5,000 towards his vet bills.
I am trying to raise funds to pay for his care. I have contacted an attorney to charge the dog's owner with the NYS Agriculture and Markets law, section 123, which could hold him responsible for the accrued costs. However, my attorney has stated that charging him may not result in actual restitution if he does not have the funds to pay.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any amount you can donate for Willow. Please consider helping me to pay for his veterinary care. It would mean the world to my sons and me to be able to put this traumatic event behind us and move forward once Willow returns home.
