Louis Gumpenberger was just 33 years old when he was taken in a senseless killing on August 16, 2016. This tragic death is currently under investigation in O'Fallon, MO. He was such a sweet, loving man so full of life and laughter. Even though he had a traumatic brain injury that left him severely impaired, he was ready to start a new job. The family is just devastated by this loss and could use some help. Louis is survived by his mother Margaret (Granny), his brothers, Robert and Michael, and his two children Desi and Trevelyan.
Granny and Louis were always together. It's a running joke that they were 'joined at the hip' because when one was around, the other was sure to be there too. Louis was a sweet flirt with the ladies and just loved babies and kids. In fact, he wanted to get married one day and have more babies. He was so good around them. He was just a big, fun-loving kid himself.
Louis loved to play all kinds of games with his son Trevelyan. He was very good at chess and liked Uno a lot. Louis loved to exercise. He walked frequently, lifted weights, enjoyed swimming. Before his car accident in 2005, he was one belt away from a black belt. Louis thoroughly enjoyed watching his kids train in martial arts, as that used to be a big part of his life.
Please consider helping Granny and their family with the funeral expenses and future expenses for the children. This is a difficult time for them to have such a kind and gentle man taken from them in such a horrific and sudden way. Louis did not have life insurance and there is not enough money to cover funeral expenses and other outstanding bills.
Also, as well, any prayers you can offer for this family would be greatly appreciated.
Baue Funeral home in St. Charles, MO is generously offering the family a discount and donation of services, as well as, merchandise to help lower the cost. There is still a balance to be covered and other outstanding bills. Along with possibly starting a trust fund for Trevelyan.
This fund has been established by a friend of the family and has the full cooperation and support of Margaret Burch.
