Clara's Fundraiser for St Ann's Hospice
hello everyone.
first of all, i'd like to thank you for taking the time to read this. it means a lot. second of all, if you're donating, an even bigger thank you.
this donation is for St. Anns Hospice. the reason behind this is Claudio. Claudio was diagnosed in Feb. 2019 with thymic cancer. after more than a year and a half of chemotherapy, hospital visits, an open chest surgery, trauma, pain, medication, bad news after bad news, he passed away on Nov. 2020 at St. Anns Hospice Heald Green.
this donation will be a thank you on my part, to the staff involved in the care of Claudio during the 2 weeks he was there.
in the middle of a global pandemic, all i heard on the news were heartbreaking stories of people dying alone, because no one could go see them. all i heard during all of last year was people wanting to say goodbye to their loved ones and not being able to. this was my biggest worry. I never wanted him alone, under any circumstances. the staff at St. Anns Hospice Heald Green were the most caring, loving, understanding group of people i ever encountered in my life. they allowed me to say goodbye. they allowed a friend and a father to say goodbye. they stood with me, the whole time. i will never forget what they gave us, because i dont think anyone else would've.
in a story that is so sad, so heartbreaking still, they're my heroes.
So, on May 6th 2021 will be 6 months since he passed away. Im trying to fundraise 700£ (or more) to donate to this charity. If we can make this happen, I will be dressing up as Claudio's favourite character, and i'll be walking from my house to St. Anns Hospice Heald Green and back (thats 8miles one way). I'll be bringing them a bouquet of flowers, and the donation will be automatically transferred to them on that day.
Help me thank them. Help me help them. I know this and last year have been so hard on most, but every donation counts. If you can't donate, sharing is free. Post it online. Share it with family and friends. And thank you so much for helping me honour Claudio and so many others.
