On July 28, 2016 Shawn Clary was riding his Harley Davidson Nightster to work on the 405 South at 9am. He was riding just past Beach Blvd. when a car, who didn't see him, attempted to merge over into the carpool lane and in doing so cut Shawn off. He tried to brake but didn't have enough time. As he locked up, Shawn felt his wheels go out from underneath him as he flew into the back of the car.
Drivers stopped and called 911 and an ambulence was able to transport him to UCI where he underwent emergency surgery for his injuries. A broken right humerus (upper arm), broken right tibia, 3 broken lumbar vertebrae and 3 broken ribs. Shawn had plates and pins put into his hummerus bone as well as his tibia. Thankfully Shawn did not have to undergo back surgery and is recovering with a LTSO Back Brace which he will wear until the vertebrae's are healed.

Shawn was at UCI for one week before being transfered to Long Beach Memorial Physical Therapy Acute Rehabilitation Facility. There he is learning to utilize his entire right side as his left side is temporarily imobolized from the accident. Unfortunatley Shawn is left handed.
Doctor's are amazed at his recovery and how well he is doing! Shawn is determined and focused everyday on his rehabilitation. With luck Shawn will be able to go home on August 14th.
Once he is home he will need fulltime care to assist with his recovery. He will most likey be in a wheel chair until his injuries are fully healed.
Shawn has not been able to work since the accident and has no return to work date as of now. His loving girlfriend and partner Sasha has been by his side the entire time which has limited her work as well.

Any help at all would be accepted with love from the bottom of their hearts.
We are all so thankful that Shawn is here with us today for us to show him our love and support through this trying time.
