Jeffrey Sawyer Memorial Fund

On January 3, 2021 my Dad, Jeffrey Sawyer passed away. During his life, my dad was a registered official for over 30 years. He spent countless summer evenings down the street at the Gordy Park in Cerro Gordo and so many fall and winter nights refereeing basketball and football. He found so much joy in staying involved in sports and working with young athletes. Almost 40 years ago, my dad was also involved in starting the JFL football program in CG. He played on CG’s courts and diamonds, watched his kids do the same, coached various teams, and then umpired and worked with hundreds of other kids during his life. CG athletics is a huge part of my dads legacy and something that always made him the happiest. In that spirit, we have decided that all proceeds of this memorial fund will be donated to the Cerro Gordo Youth League. Donations can also be deposited directly at the State bank of Cerro Gordo.
