Paris' Semester Abroad

My name is Paris Patterson-Garner and I am currently a rising junior at the University of La Verne, studying Political-Science and Journalism. Recently, I was accepted into a semester-long program for Fall 2016 at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain.
With this great opportunity, however, comes additional financial costs. Studying abroad is slightly more expensive, and because I will not be living on my primary university's campus (ULV), my typical financial aid package has been reduced. The money that I raise here, will offset my additional costs and allow me to continue in this program. Addressing the cost of attendance is extremely important, as I will also have to pay for airfare and traveling expenses, books, and other costs associated with the fall semester. All donations, large and small, are extremely appreciated and accepted.
The reasons why this opportunity means so much to me is that it allows me to take courses at an international institution, immerse myself in a Spanish speaking country, and travel throughout Europe and Africa. Additionally, Barcelona is the landscape of a modern political revolution, as the Catalonian region attempts to secede from the Spanish Kingdom. The international, cultural, historical, and political benefits of this program pique my interests as a political-science major.
