Dona and her family are in desperate need of help.
I am setting up this page because I have seen on the responses to her facebook posts that many people want to help. I also know that she would never ask for the help she so desperately needs.
Her husband, Gary, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to his brain and lymph system.
For the last several years Gary was working overseas in the oil field on a contract basis. Last year he went months without work and the family went through a really hard time financially and got deeply in debt.
Gary finally got a contract and they hoped that they could pay off their debts and get their life back to normal. After only a couple of hitches the job ended because of the downturn in the oil business.
Dona took a job as a waitress to pay the rent and buy groceries for the family but they didn't have the money to pay for health insurance or to make the payments on the debt they had incurred the prior year.
Dona is now working as a receptionist and will be eligible for insurance in a couple of months.
Their immediate need is to get insurance for Gary that will cover his treatments until Dona's insurance goes into effect. They also have medical bills to pay from Gary's hospitalization.
They will have to put the boys in daycare because Gary was keeping the boys while Dona worked and will no longer be able to. This will take a large portion of Dona's salary.
Long term they need help to pay off the debt. It would have taken them years even if the oil field turned around and Gary was working. There's no way that Dona can keep the family going and pay off the debt on her salary.
So to all Dona & Gary's friends and family that want to help...
