Loved ones,

On May 27, Amanda and Josh were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Leia Anne. After less than a day of joy with their happy, healthy infant, Leia had an unexpected complication and was transferred to the NICU at Comer's Children's Hospital in Chicago. After two long days of tests, blood work, and imaging, Amanda and Josh received the unfortunate news that Leia had suffered from a stroke and multiple seizures. This has been overwhelming for Amanda, Josh, and everyone who is special in Leia's life. Leia is continuing to make progress every day, but her recovery will be a long road full of specialized therapies and medications. This will bring a cost burden onto the new parents, and we hope that this page will allow for family, friends, and strangers to help the young couple in this hard time.

While Amanda and Josh appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and generous help, they ask for privacy at this time as they try to acclimate to their new life with Leia. Leia is now feeding well, looking great, has had no reoccurring seizures, and is working hard to get discharged home. We will keep you all updated as new things happen for this very busy little girl!
