Liver Transplant

We have an update!!!! Her levels started to slowly trim down. They are no where near what they need to be. This may have bought us some time on whether we will need a liver transplant or not. She still isn’t in the clear yet. We want to thank everyone for donations and prayers. My sister, Brianna Lackey, is in need of all of our help right now! If you don’t know my sister, let me give you a little background on her. Brianna just turned 30. She is a wonderful wife to her husband Hueston, an amazing mother to their son Cole and the best aunt, sister and daughter that there has ever been. Brianna has the biggest heart and more compassion than most of us could even fathom. This is probably what led her to become a nurse. Brianna is an OR nurse at High Point Regional, and dedicates her life to taking care of others when they need her the most. Unexpectedly though, she has found herself needing all of us now. A week ago Brianna wasn’t feeling well, and went to get checked out, and they found her liver enzymes were very high. She was admitted to the hospital but quickly released. She had an appointment on Christmas Eve morning to have her blood work checked again, and her counts were even worse than before. They admitted Brianna again, and found that her liver has just quit working. All of this is unexplainable to the doctors, but it’s led them to put her on the list for an emergency liver transplant. Right now they are waiting on a liver that will be a match. All of this in one week’s time, and especially right at Christmas, has been a complete shock. Obviously Brianna is now out of work, and Hueston is staying by her side, and he works for himself, so they have no income, with mounting medical debt. I wouldn’t ask for anything if they didn’t need it so desperately, but anything that can be done, any amount of money that can be spared will help them out. They are having to cover household bills, Hueston’s travel and lodging as they will be moving Brianna to Charlotte, and they will have to pay for the unknown amount of her medical bills. Brianna is an absolute blessing to everyone that knows her, and I pray that we can all come together to bless her in return.
