Adrian's Recovery Journey ♥

 I am doing this for my sister's boyfriend and his family Adrian Brandell.Who was hit by a car, on December 9,2021 while walking and crossing the streets cross walk. He is only 14 years old. He was taken to St Luke’s in Twinfalls  and was stabilized and intubated with a breathing tube and flown out to Boise’s children’s hospital emergently that night. Both parents Ryan and Vanessa have been with him in Boise’s pediatric intensive care unit as his 4 other siblings are here in Twin Falls. This has been very difficult on the entire family. With the holidays coming up and both parents are not working at this time due to being at his bedside. Anything helps honestly. Here's what we know. He has a 3  fractures to his skull, one to his right eye socket, fractured cheek bone,fractured nose which is causing cerebral  spinal cord-fluid to leak. Which is why a drain is placed to help decrease the swelling in his brain that night.He has broken his tibia/fibula  on his right leg which they went in this morning (12/10)for surgery to place a plate to repair it. He does have swelling and contusions to his brain which they are monitoring very closely for the next 72 to 96 hours which are extremely critical. 

Adrian's parents are self employed have no other source of income since her injured. With a need month upon us savings are starting to dry up. 

Adrian is now out of the PICU after nearly  3 weeks. He has begun to wake up. Adrian will needs months of rehabilitation to get him back to where he was before this happened. His parents have been by his side since. He will be moved to Primarys in Salt Lake City within the coming weeks. After Adrian and his mom are settled in Utah, he's dad will be returning to work. 

His mom will be making weekly trips from Twin Falls to Salt Lake  during his stay. His 4 other siblings will remain in  Twin Falls. With no income in the last month and travel expenses have been adding up, as both parents have gone from Boise to Twin to be with their other children.  These are parents that didn't leave their child's side in over 2 weeks. Neither of them were till they knew he'd be okay. This money will help the transition go smoothly while dad is returning to work, make sure Adrian's siblings are taken care. More importantly this will be one less thing for this family to worry about.  
Adrian has had to have both a feeding tube and trach put in to aid in his recovery.
