Our son Judah was diagnosed with scoliosis approximately 10 years ago at age three. At age 9 his curve reached the point it was in need of a back brace which Judah faithfully has worn 20 hours a day for four years. His last X-Ray revealed his double curve has reached a 58/55 degree measurement which means he is now in need of corrective surgery. Judah is not done growing which makes his curve at high risk of progressing to the point of effecting lung function but it also means he is not able to have the most common form of corrective surgery. Judah is in need of a specialist from New York City who is able to correct a growing spine while remaining minimally invasive and allowing him to keep his range of motion and an active lifestyle post-surgery. The specialist is out of network for Texas insurance but we are part of a Christian Medical Sharing group that will cover a small portion of the expenses. Children's Miracle Network may be able to provide us with some aide as well. The rest of the financing will need to be covered by extra hours at work on the part of Judah's father as well as fundraising support. The surgeon requires a minimum deposit before Judah can be put on the schedule for surgery so we are working to attain this as soon as possible as Judah's curve will continue to progress until he undergoes this surgery.Organizer
