As most of you know, my best friend Selina & her husband Uriel found out they were expecting! After more than a year of trying to get pregnant, Selina found out she wasn’t just blessed with 1 little human but that God had blessed her with twins. This brought so much light to the life of Selina & Uriel, especially during a year when we could barely leave our homes. The joy of being pregnant was the topic of every conversation for Selina, well aware of the complications with a high risk pregnancy, she was ready for whatever came her way. 2 months into her pregnancy she was admitted to the hospital due to hemorrhaging and was put on bedrest. After multiple days long hospital stays the doctors at Advocate Christ Medical Center admitted her indefinitely at just 5 months into her pregnancy. On December 11, she had an emergency C-Section to ensure her safety and the safety of her twin boys. Valen and Kane Favela, classified as Micro Preemies, were delivered more than three months early. This was going to be a challenge, but Selina was prepared for the long days & nights in the NICU, never leaving their side and still showing her compassionate heart by buying sanitization gifts for the NICU staff. Kane and Valen, put up a fight, a 10 day fight, along with the staff at Christ Advocate Hospital. Unfortunately, Kane and Valen both passed away hours apart on December 20th and 21st. Selina, her family & friends are extremely saddened by this tragic loss. We greatly appreciate every single one of you, and ask you to pray for their strength. All money raised will be going to Kane and Valen’s hospital and funeral expenses.
