Imagine, for 11 years hating how you look and wanting to exterminate one part of you. This is one of the many ways that Kyle has felt. Through these 11 years, he has tried multiple fundraising efforts to receive his gender confirmation top surgery from Gofundme to drag shows to personal donations via cash app, venmo, paypal etc totalling a whopping $200. Daily Kyle wakes up, puts on his binder to compress his chest just to be able to feel as masculine as he is. Yes, the testosterone that he takes weekly helps with physical features, but it doesn't replace your chest. Kyle spends 24 hours a day in his binder which by medical standards is severely unsafe compressing your lungs for that long. The only time he removes his binder is to shower, once out of the shower he puts it right back on. For so many years he has strived to have the right insurance to cover his top surgery, and each time he has a new insurance plan, something comes up where they wont cover it. With how much effort Kyle works, we are barely getting by on bills, car repairs, basically just life in general, so funding this on our own is out of the question. This past year he had state insurance, he got a call from the surgeon's office to schedule a date, an exciting day I know! Well, the date was after December 1 and on that date his new insurance plan would take effect, little did we both know that with the new insurance, gender confirmation services are not covered through his plan. With this new found information and many emails back and forth between our companies benefits department and the insurance company, he has had to forcefully out himself as transgender at work due to fighting to have this surgery covered, which is something he wasnt planning to do. After everything he has been through, I can say that I have never seen my husband so defeated, let down, depressed and angry. This Gofundme is a last ditch effort for us to help someone become their true self more than they already are. Every penny raised is a blessing in these trying times. Gifting this to Kyle would be the greatest thing anyone could ever do for him and we are asking for your help to meet this goal.
