Update #1-
My best friend's husband was recently diagnosed with Metastatic Melanoma. Please take the time to read his story as told by his wife Brandi. This family is facing a mountain of expenses coming up as he travels back and forth to MD Anderson in Houston, TX for treatment. Let’s show them our support by helping ease their burden of medical expenses, time off of work, etc all while keeping everything as normal as possible for their two children.

Two years ago Josh had a mole removed from his left shoulder that was tested and came back positive for melanoma. After removing a bigger section of surrounding tissue he was told that all the safety margins had come back clear. In March of this year a small “bump” came up on Josh’s shoulder in close proximity to the original melanoma spot, he was told that it was probably nothing, but a doctor wanted to biopsy it to be safe. This spot came back positive for melanoma as well, starting the grueling process of hurry up and wait on PET scans and MRI’s. These tests confirmed that the Melanoma had metastasized in his body and that he will require immunotherapy and possibly other procedures. Josh along with our family have chosen for him to be treated at MD Anderson in Houston, TX, as they have a designated Melanoma clinic. Josh will be required to be in Houston at least once a week for the first six weeks of treatments and then once every three weeks after. Josh begins his treatment on June 13th. We will be giving updates weekly so stay tuned to hear about this winning journey he is fixing to take on!
