Hello everyone - I’m fundraising for my son Ray to get the Wheelchair Van he needs. Ray’s health has been declining over the past few years and he is wheelchair bound now. He has many diseases the most serious of which is a Mitochondrial Disorder that affects every cell and organ of his body causing progressive muscle weakness. He has also lost some of his hearing and vision already and at any time can go deaf or blind. Many people his age pass away from this disease as it can cause organ failure. Because we don’t have a transport van he has been mostly housebound for a few years. I am a single Mom and I have only been able to work part time because of my own health issues. Our medical bills are also high. Wheelchair vans are extremely expensive and I have been unable to provide one. I humbly come to you asking for help. Ray loves life and he loves nature. He has accepted his illness and limitations with grace snd great courage. He is in severe pain everyday yet still sees the beauty and wonder in life. Ray greatest desire is to be outside in nature. He loves Washington state and dreams of visiting there and seeing other beautiful places in our country while he still can. A van will make that possible. Please help this dream to come true for my son. There are also Specialty Doctors he needs to see in other states that understand his Rare Disorders. We can get to them once we have a van. Please help Ray to be able to enjoy the time he has left and get the treatment he needs. I know 2020 has been tough on many and I understand if you cannot give. No amount is too small and will help.
