London Air Ambulance

Addenbrookes Charitable Trust - With the money going towards the new Cancer Hospital.

Our chosen charities all have meaning behind them and are close to our hearts in many ways.

We will be taking on the challenge on the weekend of May 2nd/3rd.

Why ACT?

Half of our funds will go towards Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust because of the incredible care and support the hospital has given to my mum.

In March 2022, when the world was getting back to normal after being turned upside down by COVID, my family’s lives changed even more. We found out that my mum had been diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer. She had already fought breast cancer twice, first back in 2012 and again almost 5 years later in 2017. As a family together we struggled through the 10 years of multiple surgeries, treatments, radiotherapy, genetic testing and we were hopeful for the future. But this new diagnosis shattered that hope.

Despite everything, Addenbrooke’s has been there for her every step of the way. The staff don’t just treat her; they truly care, making her feel welcome and comfortable. That kindness has meant the world to her— and to us as a family.

Mum wants the best for others going through this in the future. She wants people to feel safe and supported, to have access to the best care possible, and, most importantly, for research and early diagnosis to give more people the chance to enjoy life.

That’s why half of the money raised will go to ACT, specifically to the new cancer hospital. This will help ensure that more people get the care, comfort, and hope they deserve.

By supporting ACT, I hope to make a real difference for those who need it most.

Why London Air Ambulance?

In 2019, one of our close friends was caught up in the London Bridge terror attack at Fishmongers Hall. They were seriously injured, and in those terrifying moments, the emergency response was crucial. London’s Air Ambulance was there, delivering life-saving care at the scene before she was rushed to hospital. Thanks to their speed, skill, and dedication, she survived. Without them, things could have been very different.

That day changed our group of friends forever. It made us realise how fragile life is and just how important emergency services like London’s Air Ambulance are. Their work doesn’t just save lives—it gives people a second chance, reunites families, and helps people rebuild after unimaginable trauma.

London’s Air Ambulance is entirely funded by donations. They rely on public support to keep their helicopters in the sky and their specialist trauma teams ready to respond in the most critical moments.
