My name is Yvonne Pacheco, I'm the very proud mom of Salva Navarro, most know him by "Coco." I will refer to him as Coco from here on. January 25, 2008 life would never be the same for Coco or myself. He was shot in the head along with his little dog, both survived after long surgeries. Coco had a 1% chance of living but he's got a strong will and he's still here with us. Coco cannot walk, talk or communicate, but he tracks and he says "Mom," but I can see in his eyes that he is there, and that he understands me, I don't know how I know, but I know. He is fed by a feeding tube and is in pretty good health considering. Coco is now 32 years old, 23 when this happened and I was told that we'd be lucky if he lived 2 years. He is in Laguna Honda Hospital in San Francisco. I work in the City but commute every weekend to my home in Sacramento. For years I have been looking for a handicap vehicle that would accommodate Coco in his customsized wheelchair that does not fold up, he's a tall and big guy and we can't transfer him into a vehicle, and handicapped vans are out of my financial league and asking for assistance for a third of what they cost. I would love to have the flexibility to take Coco home with me from time to time, or even after work to just get him out, take him to a movie, visit people, just provide a little quality of life to his day. This is unchartered territory for me, but I am asking for your assistance in helping me fund a handicapped vehicle for my Coco. This would allow me so many more freedoms with Coco. I also have another family member who would benefit in having a handicapped vehicle, it would be so nice to have them at family functions and other festivities. I am shopping around for the best deals and I'm hoping that I can find something reasonable within six months. Thank you for letting me tell my story and for any help you can give Coco for his ride to freedom and we can become Road Warriors together. Many many thanks, Yvonne
