My name is Jugraj Singh, and I am the only member of my family who is physically safe — only because I was away for work at the time of the tragedy. Today, I am seeking support for my family during the most heartbreaking and unimaginable time of our lives.
On November 20th at around 2:00 AM, a tragic house fire occurred in our home in Brampton. The investigation is still ongoing, and the exact cause has not yet been confirmed.
This devastating fire took the lives of five beloved members of our Indian Punjabi family, leaving our hearts broken and our world shattered.
We Lost:
- My mother-in-law (in her 50s)
- My sister-in-law, Gurjeet Kaur (29)
- Gurjeet Kaur’s 2-year-old child
- My wife’s cousin, Annu (27)
- My unborn baby, after my wife, Arshveer, who was pregnant, survived by jumping out of a window, but suffered severe injuries.
The fire destroyed everything in the house — personal belongings, clothing, passports, insurance documents, and other essential papers. Nothing was left.
Family Fighting for Their Lives:
- Arshveer (My wife)
- Amritvir (My brother in-law)
- My Son (5 years old)
- Amritvir's brother in law
The above-mentioned are all currently in the ICU, suffering from severe burns and receiving critical medical care. As the only family member able to manage arrangements, I am trying to cope with both the emotional devastation and the overwhelming financial burden.
We are also working to arrange for the bodies to be transported to India, if their condition allows, so that their final rites can be performed among family and relatives once all investigations are completed.
All donations will go toward:
Medical treatment and support for the surviving family members.
Replacing passports, documents, and essential belongings lost in the fire.
Funeral expenses and transporting the bodies to India.
Helping the family rebuild their lives step by step after this unimaginable loss.
I humbly request you to donate and share this fundraiser. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in helping us survive this tragedy and move forward.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, love, and support in our darkest time.
Regards,
Jugraj Singh
