HalfAss Kustoms Shop Fire

A Way To Help :)

Hey everybody! It's "The Kid" here haha. I'm Brent's stepson and I would like to share something with you. This is a bit of a short story but every piece of it is important.

As many are aware, there was a fire at the shop and basically everything was destroyed. This happened while Brent and my Mom were on a road trip in the States. They came home from the Lonestar Roundup to Brent’s beloved shop being reduced to ashes.

Since he was a kid Brent's passion and hobby has been tinkering and working on cars and anything with wheels. I've never seen anyone able to do with a piece of metal what he can do. When he started his YouTube channel, it was with the hope that he could bring joy to others, while enticing a few more people into the classic/custom car world. He never could have imagined what it would turn into. He loves to teach others. Aside from YouTube, he will always put helping others at the forefront. When a friend needs help with a car, he's convincing them to come to the shop so he can help, or going to their place to help out. He is the kindest person you could ever meet. He will drop everything to help a friend in need but almost never accepts help himself, hence why I’m starting this thing.

Saying It's a tragic thing that happened is an understatement. It's clear in this world that good and bad things happen to both good and bad people. Something like this happening to someone like Brent is living proof of that. He is the last person who deserves something like this. Thankfully nobody was injured in the fire and Pablo and Buddy are doing great. Thankfully nobody was injured in the fire and Pablo and Buddy are fine. Also, there was insurance on the shop so we will be able to rebuild. But as those of you who follow his YouTube channel are aware, the amount of things he has collected over the past 30 years are absolutely invaluable. From tools he had to antique car parts so many of which can’t be replaced. The shop will be rebuilt but insurance coverage will barely even scratch the surface of the shop contents.

Brent being who he is does not want to accept help from other people. BUT I cannot accept that. It hurts me so much to see how much he's lost, and blows my mind how optimistic he is about everything. After everything that’s happened, he finds a Crescent wrench in one of his old cars, screws a few light bulbs in the old shop, and keeps going with a smile on his face. To say that's inspiring is the biggest understatement.

I am starting this Go Fund Me much to his dismay, as a hope to help him regain some of the invaluable things that filled the shop where so many memories were made. I know that so many people were asking for a way to help and a way to give and I want this to be a streamlined way to make that possible. I want to be clear...if you are short on cash, or struggling even in the slightest, please do not feel obligated to participate in this fundraiser. The last thing anyone wants is for someone to do more than they can. But for those who were curious, and for those who are asking, this is how you can give to help a man who has spent his life helping others. You'd be surprised how far a few dollars can go, especially turned into some tools and car parts in the hands of someone as talented and kind as Brent! But as I've said, DON'T GIVE WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE!! Simply watching his videos, liking, subscribing, and sharing the channel with some friends is just as valuable :)

I have set the fundraising goal low because I'm not sure what kind of goal to have. It's near impossible to put a value on everything that was in the shop. We will be happy with anything. But if for some reason this thing does take off, and we are able to refill a good portion of the shop and for some reason there is a surplus of funds left over, anything extra will be donated to cancer research and one of our local hospital’s maternity ward, two things that are near and dear to my mom and myself.

Thanks for reading this everyone, and I wish you all the best! Cherish every second and put your family first...in the end, family is what's most important. Take care y’all :)
