Just Jack
JUST JACK
Jack Boman is a very sweet active 4-year-old boy. He is loving and has a big personality. He is non-verbal but has his own way of communicating. He is working with a therapist and hopefully one day he will be able to speak. Jack has multiple medical issues on top of his diagnosis of Autism (please see Jack’s full medical diagnosis’ below).
Over the years, with Jack being in and out of the hospital because of different surgeries and ongoing therapy, the family has accumulated numerous medical bills. He wasn't diagnosed with Autism until June 2014; prior to that, Jack had therapy 2-3 times a week; insurance only covered 20 visits per year and his parents were responsible for the rest. Jack has always suffered from Acid Reflux and his body was unable to process his food (even on a specific formula that cost $40 a day, plus purée food).
In July 2016, Jack’s doctor ordered Laparoscopic Pyloroplasty surgery. He was to have surgery in the morning, spend the night in the hospital and be discharged the next day. He ended up being in ICU for 5 days, then in a private room for a total of 12 days. With his parents being with him 24/7 and juggling the other two kids, medical bills and loss of wages’ started to accrue. This family needs help.
Jack still has a long tough road ahead. He will be in need of Nissen Fundoplication, Neurogastroenterology and Motility Disorder Program in Cincinnati, OH, then Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes at Univ. of Michigan Hospital.
The list goes on of what this child has gone through and what he will need. We are reaching out for support to help this family. If you are willing and able to help by giving a donation, no matter the size, it is greatly appreciated. All donations will go towards the daily needs for Jack and his family. Thank you for your support, thoughts and prayers.
Please share Jacks story.
