Giving Back to Edison Montessori

Dear Edison Families - Current and Alumni,
As you may know the San Carlos School District has decided not to renew Edison's lease and they are closing down in June 2016 after over 20 years of amazing service to the families of San Carlos and the Peninsula. After a long search, they were able to find another site to move Edison and will be starting a new, smaller school in Campbell in the fall.
However, this move will greatly impact the Edison family. The new school is smaller and about half of the staff will be without jobs. Of the teachers who will be staying, they will be without salaries for the summer while the school is in transition. It will, no doubt, be a difficult time for all of them.
Edison was a very important part of my daughter's development and I was hoping the community could band together and create a fund to help bridge some of the economic hardship our beloved teachers will be facing in the upcoming months. Edison gave so much to our family - and countless others. That is why I'm setting up this fund on their behalf.
The goal is to be able to provide enough so that each teacher can get at least $1,000 extra from our efforts, or more if we can exceed the $10,000 goal.
I know this time of year can be tough, but I ask that you consider donating. And, please pass this on to other Edison families you think may contribute. We'll be keeping the site open until June 30, 2016 then I will arrange for the money to be transferred to Ann DeLeo so she can distribute it to the teachers and staff. I received your email from a chain distributed for the goodbye this week. Please pass this along to anyone you may know.
Thank you for reading this message and in advance for your generousity.
Warm regards,
Amie (mom to Devyn O., Edison class of 2014, room CC)
