Support Michael Kemp’s family as we say goodbye

Hello everyone, Thank you so much for taking time to read this. My name is Stephanie Kemp, and my younger brother is Michael. Michael is 44 years old and a brilliant person; a graduate of Columbia College Chicago, gifted in photography, and numerous other creative ventures. He’s always been the funniest person in our family, and loved to share the music, movies, and books he enjoyed. He’s a loyal and devoted soul, and so proud to be an uncle and share his knowledge with my kids. He’s loved by his friends, and enjoys playing pool at various places in the city. He’s deeply sensitive and empathetic, and it’s almost as though this world and the pain of life were too much for him. He’s suffered years with depression and self medicating. As his family, we’ve suffered along with him as we watched our beloved son, brother, and uncle, struggle to maintain his life, and ultimately his health. On November 29th, he was taken to the emergency room via ambulance, unable to walk to the car. We learned he’d lost 2/3 of his blood volume, and needed numerous transfusions and procedures to stabilize him. Since then, he’s been in the hospital, unable to have visitors, much of the time unable to understand why he’s there. The staff at the hospital have been wonderful, and worked valiantly to help Michael get better. We’ve been informed Michael now has multi-system failure (liver, kidneys, blood clotting factor), and will be moved into hospice care. The pain of facing losing Michael is immeasurable. I, and my family, humbly request your support as we prepare to say goodbye. There is no life insurance available for a funeral, and we need your love and support. At this point I have no idea how much hospice might cost, and a funeral is imminent. There are simply no funds available, and a proper burial is our final act of love for my sweet brother. After the year we’ve all been through, and the Christmas holiday next week, I’m aware this is a huge request. If you are able, please donate. If not, please share this with your friends and family.
