Hi everyone One of the major effects of COVID-19 is that all our scheduled fundraising events needed to be cancelled. Dbr has always the best interest and safety of our players and volunteers in mind and therefore will Not go ahead with our two main fundraisers which were the Flag Day outside local shops on 23rd December and the Duck Race on Jan 1st . The finance raised from these events would have bein used to keep our club in operation and cover costs including, insurance, pitch upkeep, electricity bills , equipment, first aid etc . Without these essential funds, it puts our club in a difficult position and puts a strain on our finances. Our dream of having a much needed training pitch is moving along but after raising funds for this, we now find ourselves having to use these funds to keep the club going. For these reasons , we are coming to you , our players , parents, members, sponsors and supporters , to look for financial support to keep our fantastic club in operation. The generosity of the local community has always blown us away and we are so aware that these times are difficult for everyone but if you can contribute large or small, WE WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT. To this end, we are creating a GoFundMe page to help with fundraising. Again , we totally understand there are so many worthy charities looking for funds at this time and this is probably the worst time to ask for help but we would be so grateful to everyone if they could ask any family , friends or businesses they know to get behind us.
